about

MPBNB001.

As the triumphant UK combined armed forces of the Falklands Taskforce returned to port, Margaret Thatcher's Government turned its political guns on the great northern cities. Liverpool, as with the Nazis, was subject to a premeditated bombardment by its own masters and as the great employment centres were destroyed, those in education and local government desperately started to get as many of the brightest children away to safety in the south.

For the rest of the children, they were left floundering in the cold Irish Sea. A way of urban life despised by those in power was being obliterated in the name of bright capitalism. A world of the clan, mothers raising sons and daughters, hopes and fears only chronicled by a few young musicians and finally at the very end by Bleasdale. But always forgotten by those in power in this horror of ethnic and social cleansing were the children.

This is their story.
